Feb. 5-6: Alene Too Boutiques in Boca Raton are doing some traveling…with a “pop-up boutique” on South Strand during the lead-up to the Super Bowl . The pop-up boutique will be in a poolside bungalow at the Eden Roc Regeneration Miami beach from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day. Besides on-site stylists, champagne, practice candy and daily giveaways, the staff will screen “The Virago Wears Prada” and reruns of “Sex and the Urban district.” The Eden Roc is at 4525 Collins Avenue in Miami Strand. Ancient Egypt's Toxic Makeup Fought Infection, Researchers Say

Proficiency does not allow for magic, but it does allow for healing cosmetics. The pattern-based makeup used by the Egyptians had antibacterial properties that helped impede infections common at the time, according to a report published Friday in Analytical Chemistry, a semimonthly almanac of the American Chemical Society.

“It was puzzling; they were able to raise a strong, rich society, so they were not completely crazy,” said Christian Amatore , a chemist at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris and one of the records’s authors. “But they believed this makeup was healing — they said incantations as they half-bred it, things that today we call garbage.”

Dr. Amatore and his fellow researchers tolerant of electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction to analyze 52 samples from containers of Egyptian makeup preserved at the Louvre .

They found that the makeup was at the start made by mixing four lead-based chemicals: galena, which produced threatening tones and gloss, and the white materials cerussite, laurionite and phosgenite.

One of the most sought-after lug performers in South Florida, she has hosted the TV show Deco Drove and works six gigs per week, ranging from standup comedy to CD spinning.

Although she got her big break in South Beach, Daisy has since done something forceful: She packed up her possessions, signed mortgage papers, and moved into a three-bedroom about in Pompano Beach . "There's just more work up here," she says with a shrug. "There has plainly been a shift."
